Daniel Bouskila has been the Senior Rabbi of Sephardic Temple Tifereth Israel since 1993.
He holds a BA in history from UCLA and Rabbinic Ordination from Yeshiva University in New York. He studied at the Hesder Yeshiva Kerem B'Yavneh in Israel, served in the IDF's Givati Infantry Brigade during the first Lebanon War, and studied at Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
A Vice President of the Board of Rabbis of Southern California, Rabbi Bouskila also serves on the boards of UCLA Hillel, the UCLA Center for Jewish Studies, the Israel Film Festival, and as an advisor/educator for the recently founded Professional Leaders Project (PLP).
A devoted activist on behalf of Israel, he was honored by the LA Israeli Community with the 2004 "Yekir Ha-Kehilla Ha-Yisraelit" (cherished friend of the Israeli Community) award. He is a regular contributor to local and national newspapers (in both English and Hebrew), and has published an extensive commentary to the Sephardic Passover Haggadah. He teaches advanced rabbinical courses at the Academy for Jewish Religion, and has taught at Shalhevet High School, where he also coached the Girls Varsity Basketball team, leading them to 2 consecutive national tournament championships in Miami Beach, Florida.
Rabbi Bouskila is married to Peni and they have a 10-year-old daughter Shira, and a 7-year-old son, Ilan.
